red bike crate rear I finally got a rear rack for my bike, and while I was very tempted to order some gorgeous Basil panniers, I decided to go with "free" instead and saved an old crate from the garbage at my workplace. However, a bike with flowers on the front and an old unfinished crate on the back was veering into "bum bike" territory, so I painted the crate a cheery red and lined the bottom with machine-washable red gingham grippy drawer liner stuff. I think it's safely back in "shabby chic" now . . . and boy am I going to enjoy getting groceries next time! Wooden Bike Rack I have never seen a wooden bike rack before. Unfortunately, this one is not very practical, as the wood is too thick for a U-lock; you need a cable lock to use it. Bethany Beach, DE.
